What a great way to kick off a great year of reading. Everyone was excited about the new titles added to their personal collection. Thank you to all who supported the media center through the book fair! We will be using the proceeds to continue to improve the media center, add to our collection, and sponsor an author visit later in the school year. Today was a very successful start to our book fair. We had a new class visiting every 15 minutes!! The students and teachers loved seeing the great titles and adding to their personal libraries. We will be open Tuesday night during curriculum night from 5 -6 for parents! The best new feature is our ACTIVBoard! We talked about how to care for the board and for our books. Students also learned how to use place markers to ensure that our bookshelves stay in order. These new features were great, but I believe everyone liked learning how to check in their own books the best. They learned how to scan their books, listen for "Woo-Hoo", and place their books on the correct shelf of the cart based on their call numbers. We are getting ready for a new addition - an ACTIVBoard!! What an awesome learning tool. This tool will allow us to bring our lessons to life. Great times are just waiting to happen.
